In order to continually improve the genetics of our herd, our farm’s main focus has been to purchase quality bulls. Our current bull herd has been selected from the following sales/sources: UGA Herd Sale, Calhoun Bull Test, Three Trees Ranch, Canoochee Forage Bulls, Debtor Herefords, Burns Hereford Farm, Thompson Herefords, Adams Ranch, FL, and Jarrell Angus Farm in Butler, GA). We run Angus Bulls on both our 1st and 2nd calf heifers, and also on a mature herd of cattle. Hereford, Black Simmental, and Braford bulls also run on other mature herds. Each bull is chosen based on a combination of physical stature and superior EPDs across the board. We have no terminal cross bulls or herds. Each bull is selected to sire a steer that will make money in the feedlot, as well as sire a heifer that will milk and raise quality calves year after year.
